The staff and members of the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Mavis Robertson AM. Mavis made many profound contributions to the success of the Australian superannuation system. In our domain, she was one of the founding members of ACSI, and a key member of our committee of management. Mavis was passionate about the role of superannuation investors in ensuring that the financial system is beneficiary oriented, sustainable and focussed on the long term. She continued to inspire and inform ACSI’s work even in retirement, through her frequent visits to the ACSI office. We salute Mavis' outstanding achievements, and offer our sincere condolences to her family.
ACSI President Gerard Noonan commented, “Mavis was a major player in establishing Australia's world-class superannuation system, and had a sophisticated view about the way super funds had a responsibility to take an interest in their own investments. She had big ideas, a big heart and an uncanny ability to carry her excellent ideas through to completion.”
